The Spokane City Championship has become the most prestigious amateur event in the region attracting more than 140 players in 2009.  The tournament is open to anyone with an established handicap and players come from Seattle, Tri-Cities, Idaho, Montana and Canada.  The tournament has grown from 60 players three years ago to 140 in 2009 and growing.

The City Championship has much history in Spokane, dating back to 1943 when Irving Cornell won what was then referred to as the Spokane Municipal Championship which continued until the 1980’s. This Championship icon was rekindled in 2005 and has grown every year since. In 2006 a very popular Senior Division was added.
